What can I expect?

The first session is mostly based on getting to know each other and to develop goals. Through an open discussion, we can identify what you want to get out of therapy, discuss potential treatment options that suit your needs, and developing a treatment plan together. You may also be asked to complete some questionnaires (psychometrics) to help guide and evaluate treatment. Subsequent sessions will often involve skill building, feedback, and homework.

The length of psychotherapy can vary greatly depending on the person, the presenting problem, the treatment modality, and other factors. Some clients feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take longer. The majority of clients feel better after just a few months. Your treatment plan is developed mutually to suit your individual needs and what fits in your life.
